republicans. this is a title but it's a lot of attention and thanks to mitt romney and paul ryan and got a lot of attention they literally rush to google after watching the convention and what's the matter with white people. so i want to think sam. the campaign is back on sort of. we've got paul ryan who is back out in wisconsin today. vice president biden in florida, and so is governor romney. he's got three stops in florida today. he was in ohio yesterday collecting supplies and thanking supporters for helping those storm victims and also avoiding questions about fema, the federal emergency management agency and their response to the storm. meantime, president obama probably won't be back on the campaign trail until tomorrow in colorado at the earliest. today, as you mentioned, he's visiting new jersey and getting a pat on the pack from new jersey governor chris christie who says the president has done an outstanding job so far with the recovery effort after the storm. meantime, the president will not be visiting new york city. mayor bloomberg says they have a lot to do in terms of trying to handle a presidential visit at this time. >> thanks so much. let's get back to sandy, two of the three major airports serving the new york area will start to reopen late they are morning. the super storm created a worldwide ripple effect for trave

realize that it was paul ryan and the ideological republican tea party caucus that tried to cut that budget by $300 million so that the president and joe biden and secretary clinton didn't have enough money as they requested to try to provide security. so you get caught up in these things. yeah, they have -- they get amnesia, or romnesia, however you want to speak about it, when you talk about foreign policy and they forget that it was president bush. that got us into the worst foreign policy debacle in the history of this country. we will be digging ourselves out of the hole in iraq for a long, long time. because of failed intelligence and a variety of other thins. these guys remained -- remind me of a sports announcer. you watch the beginning of the football team and the analyst says, this team is going to win for sure, this is going to be a blowout. then the game is over and they were wrong they don't mention that they were wrong and made bad predicts. that's what these guys remind me of. you guys cause halved of these problems, 3/4 of these problems and you turn around and t

, the nearest thing to it, would pass the house of representatives as represented by paul ryan, the chairman of the budget committee, would have across-the-board cuts of about 22% and presumably we don't know for sure, that would include fema. but again, all of the kind of ambiguous at this point, all of it up in the air. they're going to have to come back after the election in a lame-duck session anyway, try to figure out what to do about that fiscal cliff. they would probably fund fema in the interim. republicans are going to insist that any funding of fema over and above what is planned is offset with cuts elsewhere. so basically, we could be looking at the same old story here, steve. >> hey, mike, it's krystal. we know the president's back on the campaign trail, but he and his administration are in constant contact with the fema director, correct? >> reporter: right, we heard from jay carney, we can hear him from 35,000 feet in the briefing room, it is piped in as he briefs a pool back in the press corps back on air force one. he says the president has been in regular contact with the ad
